At Taalthuis, you can learn Dutch at different levels, from A1 to C1. These levels are based on the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), the international standard used to describe language ability.
The CEFR explains what you can understand, say, read and write at each level. Read more about the different levels in the pdf on the right, and find out which one matches your Dutch.
The Beginners Basic course is for anyone with little to no knowledge of Dutch. After completing the course and passing the exam, you will have reached A1 level.
The Beginners Plus course is specially developed for native speakers of German and Afrikaans. The course moves at twice the pace of a Beginners Basic course, is taught in Dutch from the start, and covers more grammar. After completing this course and passing the exam, your level will be A2.
The Intermediate course is for anyone who have already reached A1 level. After completing the course and passing the test, you will have reached the A2 level.
Not sure about your level? Speaking is what matters most. In a short call, we’ll assess your speaking level and help you find the course that suits you best.
We also have a free writing test for A1 and A2. Press one of the buttons on the right to go to the test. Speaking is still the best way to assess your level, but why not give the test a try just for fun?
The advanced levels from B1 until C1 are also thaught at Taalthuis. Do you want to know what level of Dutch you currently have? Please register for a level check or give us a call right away at +31 (0) 23-3040023!
