Dutch B2 course
Do you already have a solid B1 level and want to speak, write, and understand Dutch at a professional level? The High Advanced Dutch Course at Taalthuis helps you bridge the gap from everyday conversations to fluent, independent use of the Dutch language.
This comprehensive course is divided into Part 1 and Part 2. Each part consists of 14 interactive lessons. To successfully reach the full B2 level, completing both parts is required.
What will you learn during this high advanced Dutch course?
In the B2 Dutch course, you will significantly expand your vocabulary and learn to express yourself fluently and clearly in both social and professional settings. You will actively work on refining your pronunciation, accent, intonation, spelling, and complex sentence structures.
The focus is on mastering Dutch in real-life situations. Through modern topics, current news articles, stories, educational games, and short writing assignments, you will practice your language skills. The lessons cover engaging subjects such as Dutch news, art, culture, and literature.
Course Details

- Structure: Part 1 and Part 2
- Duration: 14 lessons per part (2 hours and 15 minutes per lesson)

At the end of the course, you take the Taalthuis exam with both written and spoken components. If you attend at least 80% of the lessons, you will receive a certificate of attendance and your official exam results.
Course materials
For this high advanced level, Taalthuis uses the textbook Nederlands op niveau by Coutinho.
- In Part 1, you will cover chapters 1 to 3.
- In Part 2, you will work with chapters 4 to 6.

This course is ideal if you have successfully completed an Advanced A2-B1 course or if you already possess a certified B1 level of Dutch.
To ensure the best learning experience, new students are required to do a level check before signing up. For Part 1, the intake level is B1. For Part 2, the intake level is B2.1.
