Dutch course materials developed by Taalthuis
At Taalthuis, we do not only teach Dutch. We develop our own lesson materials.
The quality of our Dutch courses starts with these well-designed course materials. For beginner and intermediate levels (A0–A2), Taalthuis develops its own materials, giving our lessons a clear structure, a practical focus and a consistent learning experience. For higher levels (A2–C1), we work with course books from Coutinho, complemented by our own lesson plans and teaching materials.
Our course development team continuously creates and improves lesson content, exercises, vocabulary, grammar activities and e-learning. This gives students plenty of opportunities to practise their Dutch, both in class and at home between lessons.
Our own Dutch teaching method
Since 2005, Taalthuis has been developing its own teaching method for Dutch learners. The material is designed especially for internationals who want to use Dutch in daily life, work, study and social situations.
Because we create our own material, we can keep the lessons practical, interactive and closely connected to what students need in real life.
For beginner and intermediate levels (A0->A2), Taalthuis combines printed textbooks with an integrated e-learning platform. The books are handed out during the first lesson. Students in online courses receive their books at their home address before the course starts.
The e-learning platform helps students practise vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, listening and extra exercises between lessons.
For the higher levels we use the books of Coutinho, complemented by our own lesson plans and teaching materials.
Extra practice and grammar support
Students can add an online preparation course before starting a beginners course or use an extra grammar module at a higher level.
The online grammar module gives a clear overview of Dutch grammar and offers many exercises to put knowledge into practice.
